Just read some old threads and got the answer, not the one I wanted though. Looks like I'm stuck with c-map.

Hey guys I know very little about technology the card is in excellent condition was used on my raymarine gps. On the card it says cf/32xg/row 12mb that doesn't mean much to me but I know it's the gold chart for all of Australia

The CF suggests its a compact flash card which I don't think are used much anymore except in the older stuff.

ok so if it says cf then it is a compact flash card and not a sd card - so did raymarine use compact flash cards not sd cards ?
cheers

The early Raymarine units did - not sure on the current generation stuff. Card is bigger and thicker than an SD card and has two rows of holes down one side for the pins in the card slot to plug into.

I have an old raymarine e120 on my cruiser which uses a cf card.
