Im just in the process of rebuilding my trailer and was planning on using penetrol then putting duragal on top. Are the coatings compatible?

Confidence.......the feeling you get before you fully understand the situation.
Duragal is aluminium rich - is your trailer already galvanised?
Flood do an aluminium rich penetrol which answers both your questions and cuts out a step as well.

I have used Penetrol before and had very poor results.
The rust came through in a very short time.
I believe that I did proper preparation, cleaning, grinding off loose scale etc.
I would not use Penetrol again.
I have had better results with the rust converter products.
