Had a day off school mid week which is a rarity so I took the opportunity to head out for a fish at the Pin. Good bait was hard to find as most of my offshore bait spots were covered in Tailor. Anyway got to the Pin as the tide started running out with a dozen Yakkas. Well as it turned out I only needed 2 plus a plastic. First drop and the bait literally hit the bottom and was smashed. In my opinion Pin Jew always fight harder than the Seaway fish and I had a good tussle and landed a 93cm fish. Second bait down and I was on again but dropped it on the first run. Obviously a few fish were around so I decided to have a bit of fun on the lighter gear and first cast with the plastic and I was on. It put up a great fight with only 8lb braid and a 10lb leader I landed a 90cm Jew. That was it, bagged out, packed up and headed home early with plenty of fresh to cook up for my school staff room Xmas lunch. It will be interesting to see if the sink hole impacts the fishing at the pin in the near future.
Nice work, especially on the SP. I was there a few weeks ago, marked good fish on the sounder but they wouldn't touch a SP, only ended up getting flatties.
Am also interested about the sink hole. Wonder how it will affect the bar?
