    7" combo unit help

Hey guys I'm in the process of buying a new sounder gps combo for a 4.5m tinnie and having trouble deciding.lol
I have been looking at the dragonfly 7 and the lowrance elite 7 chirp but open to other units in this price range. If anyone has any experience with these units and could shed some light it would be appreciated.
I fish out of Mackay in the creeks and around the islands up to 50m. Would these units be suited and does the chirp work at this depth?
    Thanks

    Hey Daamu,

A mate has the Dragon Fly 7, the only downsides IMO are because it is an entry level sounder it doesn't have:
    1. Touch screen
    2. The networking abilities (NMEA0183 & 2000) like the MFD's and,
    3. Because of number 2, you can't dual transducers and add on sidevision.

However, for the price it is a really neat little unit. We have only used it in Moreton Bay.

I can't comment on the Lowrance sorry, but there might be a Humminbird equivalent you could look into.

    Regards,

Go Garmin, easier to operate faster to change screens faster to update position Homeport is available free online and in my opinion just good all round units.

Garmin 75sv/dv would be my pick. Otherwise Humminbird Helix 7 SI/DI or Lowrance Elite-7 Chirp. Merits and drawbacks of them all.

Garmin 75sv is down view and side view, Garmin 75dv is down view only... no side view

Thanks guys does anyone know a good dealer to go through I'll do some shopping around locally in mackay but usually we get hit with the mining tax so don't mind going elsewhere to save getting ripped off.
