Personal build this one for my upcoming coral sea trip (still one spot open folks!).
Samurai Pop 12, 7'6" with custom EVA grips and metal trim rings around the Fuji reel seat. Fuji Titanium K frames with SIC rings and metallic threads which really sparkle in the sunlight.
Final rod weight is only 410 grams (284 rear section and 126 front). Very happy with that.
The missus kinda spoiled this one when she called it the Cow rod due to the grips. I hope I'll actually catch a cow dogtooth on it!!

Awesome, been there twice. It's a special place, so beautiful. Obviously the skipper will know his stuff, but McDermott Bank can be great fishing for Doggies too.

ooh yeah nice rod, trip should be awesome, I hope the weather and fish gods turn it on for you. I was interested in those blanks a couple years ago, but they were new on the market and I couldn't find any feedback. I had to buy via mail order so couldn't have a look and a feel.
