Some of you may have read a number of comments I have made recently about several topics, including raising height of transom, replacing transom to buying a new motor for my older model Seafarer V-Sea.
Well I bit the Buller and upgraded the whole boat.
Yesterday I picked up a 2000 model Seafarer V-Sea with a 2000 model Johnson Ocean Pro 115hp two stroke.
I'm now eager to get it in the water.

Good looking rig Shakey. One thing you can do Just as a safety aspect, is to get an infill made or make one yourself for the area of the foot well that extends between the seats or the entire foot well if you wish - assuming you aren't going to put an esky in it. Generally only a matter of time before someone steps down in there while concentrating on something else.
Scottar not sure what you mean by an infill. Are you talking about putting a cover over the well so I or someone else doesn't fall in there.

One of my fav style boats great in the bars and rough weather we had two in the old Beenleigh Air Sea Rescue back in the 80s and boy they were beasts i went on a few very nasty big wind big water rescues and was successful on all occasion's thank goodness.at the time i owned a new 19C Haines Hunter and i would rather the SEAFARER although the later had twins on both.well done on your new purchase

Thanks gr hilly. I'm keen to get in on the water. I had a late 70's seafarer v-sea. Actually still got it without a motor, with near new trailer and trying to sell it as a restoration project.
I have had it for a long long time and find them to be one of the best sea boats.
The old girl's motor died and needed some work, so I bit the bullet and updated.

Infill 1.jpgInfill 2.jpgInfill 3.jpg Pics of the infills. The factory one only covered half the well so I made a second one and now use the area for storage. Even with the factory one in place I have had one mate step off the edge of it - one of the reasons I made the second.
Nice job Scottar, you didn't get the cushion infill for the cuddy section it seems?
The Vics run an angle bracket for the cabin section or did you fit that?
Just a carpet that wraps form either side of the cabin section in the Vag but the same lip in the Cuddy that supports the cushion section on the stern side of the toilet cover.
You setup looks good and very flexible. Great covered storage.
Made of what thickness ? with marine carpet cover it would appear.

Cheers Chimo. I do have the bunk infill but I actually have a dual purpose for the space so only take it if we are overnighting. Its a bit hard to pick from the photo but it's supported by the light blue vinyl upholstered strips screwed on - you can just make out the press caps on the screws.
I have a 120 odd litre icebox that has wheels incorporated into it that allows me to easily wheel it into this area while fishing once the infills are in place. It can be opened while in this position and doesn't greatly impede any access apart from to the footwell and the cabin. Also very easy to extract to the cockpit at the end of the day when it is substantially (with any luck) heavier. It can also be wheeled out and used as a third seat facing forward. The boat has the factory seat boxes fitted which I could remove for esky storage but then I would have to find a home for all the tackle, tools, etc that lives in them. I fitted the angle brackets myself as part of the infill modification. The infill itself is 18mm ply with a quick coat of flowcoat then carpeted.
Under the infills there is enough space for two 23 litre low profile portable fuel tanks with a bit left over for small stuff - usually sinker trays. Add this to the 40 litres I store where the portaloo was, and another 23 litre tank in the other underfloor storage and the fuel capacity goes up substantially without having any of it in the way.
