    Hinchinbrook Holiday

Just finished a two week fishing holiday based out Lucinda and I'm fished out !
With four days driving to and fro from Brisbane and a couple of rest days to do the tourist things in the area , the son and myself managed to pull 120 odd fish over half a dozen odd trips out - all of which were tagged and released to swim another day.
The weather was kind, allowing us to, fish many different creeks running off the full length of Hinchinbrook Channel .
Every creek we fished was absolutely littered with very fishy looking snags and it wasn't hard to find a spot to fish.
We made a point to fish a different creek each trip so we could build a bit of knowledge on the area for next time .
As this was my first time in this area , and the learning curve was a steep and it very quickly became apparent that the fish in the area liked the two hour period before and after low tide to jump on lures , AND the sand flies feed at dusk and dawn. To anyone thinking about fishing this area , I fully recommend the effort it takes to get there as the estuary fishing was excellent.
The scenery in the Hinchinbrook Channel was breath taking , this put together with the number of snags in every creek and the multitude of lures in my tackle box to choose from, it was just like being a kid in a lolly shop.
Here's a few photos from the trip.

    Re: Hinchinbrook Holiday

Hi TimTD157 - The entrance is very shallow at low tide - keep in close to the buoys and be carefull on the 2nd and 3rd on the way out- .it's very shallow in this area.
