Question Starting engine after 3 years evin 115 - redlands/brissy service

Busy life so my boat has been stuck in storage for 3 years. Decide to either use it again, or get it running to sell.

    2004 stacer 525 with a 2004 Evin etec 115hp engine ( 100 hours )

Obviously battery is dead, so new battery.
Evin Oli has been sitting in tank for the period. Needs replacing ?
About 5 litres was in the fuel tank. Drained now, but how do I clean any varnish rubbish in the tank ? Just flush with more fuel etc ?

Engine. Was going to try Tony at marineworx to see if he could gently nurse it back together. I presume cleaning of any trace of fuel in the engine, oil feed in the heads, checking water channels etc (ants etc) and hand cranking, etc.

Would anyone recommend anything or anybody else ?

Clean fuel and filters, make sure oil is OK, hook up the flushers and start it up, just keep an eye on the tell tale, just in case the water pump is shot....

like said above but I would add 100:1 to the initial start fuel also and squirt some crc or the like down each cylinder (2 stroke even) and turn it over by hand a few times first....would idle or as close as I could until fully warm for 10min or so.....one just needs a hand on the engine to feel their way through any potential overheat, anytime it even gets slightly close to a car engines temp it's way too hot already. Head gaskets get dry so they say....take it a little easy on the old girl until it all plays nice for long enough.

I would also drain the carbs, and the under cowl filter for the new premix fuel to fill...doubt they have any old un-evaporated fuel in them but still worth checking...I do this the day before a trip even if the boat has not been used for a month.

    It's an etec. No carbs.

i would be inclined to change the impeller too. They do get hard from lack of use for that length of time.
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

i just had the same thing but 5 years on a 115 DI Evinrude, Same engine almost as the ETEC,

Added a 100:1 oil into a 5 litre portable fuel tank, Firstly removed plugs and cranked with no spark plugs for approx 15-20 seconds, refitted plugs and cranked,

started on second turn, ran like a clock no issues at all, water pump was still good and pumping hard, even though i did replace it after the engine ran for a little while.

Thanks all, sounds like I've got a very good chance to get it started with just a little care.

    G'day

I know Tony well, very good operator.

There's a few mobile mechanic options too, Silver Service Marine (Spaniard King) here, Aqua Mobile Marine (Captain Rednut) and also Paul from PMK 0402156616 who is redlands based.

    Should be fine

Mine was a USA import that hadnt been run for 4 years.
Tanks drained and full service done prior to use.
Boat has now done 3 trips wide without the hint of a hiccup.
