lowrance hds 7 touch gen 2

Has any one ha d problems with their lowrance overheating in the sun? Mine is mounted to the dash, after drifting for a while the sounder stops working. To get it to work i have to remove it a put it in the shade. Just wondering id this happens to anyone else?

My understanding is that those symptoms indicate a screen fault. I'd suggest you contact Navico and discuss with them.
