Garmin 750S Series Flush Mount 'Gasket' Size?
I have a 750s that I may be looking to move from a bracket mount on top of the dash to become a flush mount, however it will be filling an existing hole where a 5" square unit currently resides, and at a glance, I think I will have a gap in the dash of about 10mm top and bottom of the unit to fill.
I have found online the mounting gasket for the 750, but I cannot see any specifications for it. For someone who has used one, does it provide any additional area beyond the size of the unit? I would have thought it simply fits between the dash and the unit, but the main reason I ask is the Garmin 550s that I will be removing actually has some sort of rubber 'boot' around it, which creates a slightly bigger footprint. If applied to the 750 it may just be enough to fill a void.
Thanks,
Scott.

Re: Garmin 750S Series Flush Mount 'Gasket' Size?
No it doesn't. You will have to either make up a backing plate to cover the extra area or have the dash repaired. We used either black or white acrylic or a piece of starboard with a routed edge usually. The difference between the 500 and the 700 series is the 700 series has a lip to hide the cut edge where the 500 has no lip so an additional flush mount bracket was offered. The gasket for the 700 series is just some stick on rubber strips that stick to the lip

Cheers Scott. I had a bit of a trawl on the net last night and I found a few good examples of custom backing panels that people have had made up for the same reasons, so it looks like I will head down that path.
Thanks for confirming re: gasket.
Scott.
