    Fibreglass transom

    What can anyone tell me about Bribie Island Fibreglass. i had a transom installed by them and now it has cracked and he has flown the coop?

    The transom Cracked 2 days after picking it up without the motor on it?? He said he was coming to repair but has disappeared.

    yep only heard bad things about them myself adam at fiber craft marine FMI caboolture is the go hes behind the transport department

    Thanks burleygu. i had his name mentioned to me when i was finding another glasser but i have gone with Moreton Bay Marine services. so far they have been excellent.

    how did the transom crack before you even put the motor on? I would be chasing the guy to the ends of the earth to get my money back.

    there was up to 15mm of bog between the orignial fibreglass sides of the boat to the "structural ply" transom. another words, the new transom he cut was smaller in size than the original cut out. then 1 layer of glass over everything. the new transom did not even go to the bottom of the boat. so all in all, the motor would have been only secured by the head of the top mount bolts through original glass, and 1 layer of glass. very lucky i didnt take the boat out for a trial and his poor workmanship was spotted.
