TWO people have been assessed by paramedics after their boat capsized at Evans Head this afternoon. A spokeswoman from NSW Ambulance media said they received a call from Marine Rescue at 12.45pm about a boat which had overturned.
She said two patients were assessed at the scene.
Marine Rescue NSW regional controller Stephen Reading said the two men, who were competing in the Evans Head Fishing Classic, had been fishing off Cahors Reef.
"We're not exactly sure what happened, but the vessel has sunk," he said.
"The two men were taken on board by other vessels and brought back to Evans where they were met by ambulances.
"We believe they're both in hospital now."
Seems this occurred during the Evans Head classic fishing comp ?
anyone know the fishers or boat ?
