Hi Guys, when I enter a waypoint on my gen1 hds8 ...for eg 27 123 456.........153 123 456..the number after 27 being number 1 in the example ,I can only choose 1,2,3,4,or5....number 6,7,8,9,0...wont come up.Also the first number after 153 in the example being number 1 ..will only allow me to choose 1,2,3,4,5. also not 6,7,8,9,0..all other numbers I can choose. It is on wgs 84 & degrees,minutes.....also I've tried degrees, minutues, seconds and it carries on with the same problem.only just started doing this...am I missing something?...
Swof63 is right Jason. If the numbers you have, have a heap of digits ie: 27. 98765432 as an example, it is most likely they are in degrees and then points of degrees. This is the standard format for Lowrance when waypoints are exported to a PC. You will need to select DD.ddddddddd at a guess without a manual in the position format in the unit to enter them.
Jas, you are talking about decimal format for Lat/Long, whereas the unit is looking for an input in 'deg, min, sec' format. Look for a configuration setting that refers to decimal format.
I.e 27 deg 59 mins = 27.983 deg in decimal format. Don't know Lowrance units at all, so can't tell you where to find it.
Cheers
Brendon
Page 70 of the manual mate - change the coordinate system to degrees. In the system settings menu - press menu twice for settings menu, select system then one of the options should be coordinate system. If you get lost I will come have a look when I get home.
