    Lowrance issue after power outage

Gday all headed offshore in the dark a couple of weeks back to chase a few Snapper off the GC. After anchoring decided to switch the battery switch to the deep cycle due to all lights being on. Accidentally switched it off and then straight back on to the 2nd battery. All good but after turning the sounder and Gps back on I'm getting "GPS not responding" on the Lowrance Globalmap 3500C gps. Not an uncommon issue as i have been searching thru threads but can't find one thats caused by maybe spiking the unit by turning off at the isolator rather than the unit itself? Either way all fuses are good and unit powers up fine but doesn't appear to see the LGC-2000 receiver wired thru a nema t piece with terminating resistor. So where to from here? Anyone wanna lend me a receiver for beer currency or similar or know of one for sale? I have actually been thinking of upgrading my similar age sounder but was happy to stay with the GPS for now. Any clues i can't find my hand held and am useless at land marks!
    Help much appreciated...Paul

Is the receiver powered by the same battery as the head unit?........have you some how isolated your NEMA2K network as they need to be powered to work......Just a thought.
Confidence.......the feeling you get before you fully understand the situation.

First step is to back up your user info if not already done. From here you can try system resets and the like. Your antenna should have a separate power supply cable - some lowrances had a second set of leads in the power cable, so this need to be confirmed as having power. The easiest option is another lGC2000 to try but short of someone with a failed display, they will be getting harder to find. Next option is any NMEA2000 GPS antenna and an adapter cable to go from the old style lowrance plugs to the standard NMEA2000 connector. You could also set the unit to run off the NMEA0183 input off another cheap basic GPS but this really needs to tested to confirm it works properly as not all 0183 interfaces function properly

Hi Scottar thanks for the reply...the antenna runs straight from the receiver to the t piece and then up to the head unit. Doesn't appear to be any separate power leads as you have suggested (unless i am missing something). The head unit has a lockable mount on it making it difficult to remove and trace wiring properly....will post again after another check...thanks again...
