Couple of boat painting questions
I will soon need to paint my project boat, Ive got a post elsewhere here about that.
First question is, does anyone have experience with the boatcraft Aquacote paint range? Curious about any feedback on these paints.
Second, Is it feasible to completely flip the boat to paint it? Its a 4 metre fibreglass boat. Is there a way to flip it without a bunch of guys and how do you support the sides of the boat?
And one last question, do I need to seal the existing gelcoat before painting? I did read a suggestion about a coat of epoxy before painting to seal completely before painting. The existing gelcoat seems to be in fairly good nick already.
thanks

What I did if it helps.
easiest to paint if you flip upside down. 4m boat = 4 blokes no worries.
Once sanded and prepped to where you are happy with (be very particular as anything not quite perfect will stand out when you paint), I used Epotec 408 epoxy primer (hint use white primer then if you get scratches through your top coat at ramps etc. they won't stand out as much) then guide coat sand, spot prime, guide coat sand, spot prime, guide coat sand, you get the picture. Then Protec AU620 top coat (??can't remember the exact product and too cold to go outside to check).
