Guys,
Looking at venturing up to Tin Can & heading out through the bar as Noosa is getting really dodgy, & has become very limiting in the times you can cross.
For safety, I would want to cross Noosa on a 2/3 + high tide & return on the same, but while the bar is poor, I'd still leather do it in daylight hours, & the chances of a good day, coinciding with a highish tide on daylight is slim, hence the idea of heading up to TCB.
Its just too far from Mooloolaba to fish DI, & I have the issue of travelling from Noosa to Mooloolaba, which I did on Friday & it was exactly an hour from leaving here till I was on the water, & then add the time to travel to DI & further north, well, it becomes a challenge.
My question is, is Wide Bay Bar as bad as people make out?? I realise its a long bar, but in good conditions, & realistically thats when we fish, is it an all weather bar, regarding tide times?? Do you have to cross on a highish tide, or aren't tides a real issue.
Does the bar change much, unlike Noosa which changes constantly, or is it reasonably constant?? How much water would you have under you on a low tide in the shallowest part of the bar??
I've just got to get up there & get a red to shut bananna up!! LOL
Thanks felllas,
Tony
