I have had two mates use Titan - one installed himself and said the instructions were absolute shite. The other had the whole job done and IMO got absolutely reamed on price to the point I asked him if it came with a jar of Vaseline. They knew he was in a spot with council requirements and took full advantage of the situation and from reports their contractors did a pretty average job.

There are differences in the construction/layout of the portal frames. Things like horizontal braces across the portals at the top of the wall height that may be in the way if you wish to utilise the extra height in the roof area, differences in the way the purlins and girts attach to the portals that take up a bit of extra space and the way the shed attaches to the slab - some have brackets concreted in and some are bolted down are just a few examples.
    Thanks Scottar.

I had a titan at my last place. I put it up myself, it was only 7.6x 4.6x 2.7. Up at the size of the new shed, I think I will leave to those that build them every day.

I have got a price off titan for the new shed, but I don't think they are in the hunt. There price is there abouts, but im not a fan of the arrogance in their sales staff.

Thanks to everybody for their replies.

So far, Southern Cross sheds are at the top of my list. I got a good vibe from the salesman, and their pricing structure appears very transparent.
I might add, that price alone will not make my decision, all though, any money saved is welcomed.

I am waiting for a couple more quotes to come back from some small blokes, and will be looking to put a deposit down next week.
Still keen on any feed back.

    Thanks

    Re: New shed

I reckon it is worth getting the roof (and possibly the Western wall) insulated and whirly birds installed to help keep the heat out in the Queensland summer

    Re: New shed

Hi mate as a chippy by trade I have done a few different sheds I built a southern cross shed and had a lot dramas with wrong pieces etc and was quiet weak that's my only experience and was a couple years ago so may have improved a lot I recently just erected my boat shed purchased from steeline I also had bad experiences with them dinged roller door parts missing but yeah it's 15x 6 x 5 to gutters I paid 15 for kit plus slab cost me around 2500 all work done by myself tho. Hope all works out well for you mate cheers

For comparison. 8m x 10m x 3.5m gutters. Besser block construction. Timber truss and colourbond roof. 5m roller door.

    $52,000 without electrical.

Just finalising a new house build at the moment. And this is going to be my own shed.

$36,000 in a full steel shed option. Quotes came in with a few grand from 4 different steel shed suppliers.

    Re: New shed

Wish I had gone 3.6m in the walls. Sounds like a great shed

    Re: New shed

    Food for thought-
    All plus gst
Concreter current trade rate $400 / day (1 day set up/1 day pour)
    Concrete $180m2 you'll need 8m2 = $1440
Block layer current trade rate $4/block
    Trusses roughly $2,500 + install
Roller door, windows, roofer, mesh etc
    $52k sounds like a lot that's all

    Re: New shed

Almako, cheers for the price breakdown I thought the original quote was bad. $85k.

But yes I went over the numbers myself and thought I could do it around the $35k mark. It's just my local Gladstone area has "Gladstone tax". All trades are stupid expensive.

    Concrete is $260 a cube.
Blocks are $4ea plus $3 to lay.
    1758 blocks needed. That's $12k

29 cube of concrete to core fill the whole structure and provide slab with piers for my soil type. $7.5k

So about 12-15k for roof and trades etc.

I am stuck with the builder as I need to include it in my house contract price. But if I can get it under $30k I would probably be better off just putting it under a personal loan.

Thanks for taking the time to look at it.
