" Breadcrumb Trail" out and in on a tidal creek/river

If we go out on a tidal creek/river its easy to spot the low water areas. I appreciate its possible to take a GPS mark every 30m or so and when returning say on 1/2 tide to go to each mark then a " go to" to the next mark.

Is there a function and what is it called for me to check on my Raymarine Fishfinder/GPS.

    Thanks

Your track should show you the way if you display it.
Otherwise the function your looking for is generally called a route, set to follow a series of way points. The track is much simpler if you don't delete it. Even with tracking set on over write when full, each time you follow it it will be refreshed by the new track.

Some shallow creeks I have seen blokes just shove a bit of pvc pipe in to the mud so they stick above the water at high tide to show the channel, the wide flat areas of ningi creek above the powerline used to be marked that way. Seems to be pretty bullet proof.

Thanks Feral, are the way points automatically taken say every 30m or do you have to hit a Mark button. Can you change the distance/time that the way points are taken.

Have used a GPS in a car from A to B and at every turn took a way point ( Hit the Mark key)so I could return in the reverse order.
