My sounder/GPS has just died, apparently.

    Hello All,

My 9 year old Lowrance LMS=337c has just stopped working.

Ran OK this AM then the screen went white, now will not switch on.
I have 12volts across the two big sockets on the incoming power cable.

I have spoken with Lowrance Australia and a local certified installer, both say it is dead.

Can anybody recommend a technician (Gold Coast, Tweed) who can say for sure that it is dead or not worth repairing?

It is a small 5" screen which is OK for my limited purposes and dashboard space.

Can anybody recommend a modern replacement model, doesn't have to be Lowrance?

    All advice appreciated.

Mate the repair bill would prob be more expensive than a replacement.
9 yrs is a pretty good run.
    Surely lowrance have an equivalent

I suggest you get another power cable in the first instance, the wiring can fatigue and or corrode, or put it in someone else's boat to test.

Agree with Honda. Also worth disconnecting the power, reconnect the power and hold down the clear key while you turn it on. Also try without the chart card in. You could also try downloading the latest software from their website onto a SD card (Not your chart card), put it in the unit and turn it on - try this as a last resort if nothing else works.

Yep for about 30 bucks you should try this. Mine died, Honda was onboard. Had smoke coming out of mine. New power cable and it hasn't stopped since. Worth a try
