    Crabs Galore

Thought just after that deluge of rain last Friday the crabs would be flushed out into the bay (deception bay) Well a mate and I set 8 out on the edge of the channel for the afternoon high tide of 5 o'clock - thought we would do a run on 5 and leave them overnight for a second one - we went back at 5 and it was a carve up - took 25 sandys 2 muddies and were throwing them back after that - only needed the one run and took me home - they were a great feed for the Anzac test match the next day for lunch

Great feed mate. Good to see they are still around. Never crabbed in deception bay. How deep was water?

    Seahorse
water is around 2m on low up to 5-6m on high in different areas. It,s more the scarby Newport area that we crab and obviously targeting the deeper areas on low tide that they always seem to hang out

Great catch mate. There are some big sandies there .

Used to crab D'Bay many years ago for big muddies. Might have to get over there and have a cracker.

    Great catch mate

Pretty simple nips ta we set them near all the leaders on the way out of the bay - all around 3m at low 5m at the high - fresh baits was the key as we had just come back up north for a run out to the reef and used the frames head for bait
