I have a 200hp Yamaha with 3 square gauges connected, so I have tach speed and fuel.
Question is - how do I add an amount of fuel to the gauge.
I can completely reset ttl which is great when filling the tank but with a 300L tank I don't always want to fill it. Is there a way of adding xxL to the gauge. I used to be able to on my old 100 with the circle gauges.
The fuel gauge can be set up to show fuel used or fuel remaining, in litres or imp units. If the latter, you need to input a tank size.
To do what you want to do, you would have to know what's in the tank to start with, and change the tank size each time (to suit), and of course reset the fuel 'trip' to zero, which in this case would be fuel remaining.
If you know what's in the tank, why not just show fuel used? Then simply reset after each trip or servo visit. Much simpler, but a notepad helps the memory .
Cheers

I don't think you can add - I have the same issue. I don't always fill to 150 ltrs, it's not good practice if you only burn 30ltrs at a time as I have been lately. It's better to have smaller amounts to keep fuel fresh, no doubt you know this, so I can see where you are coming from.
Is the amount of burn fairly consistent average for your trips? If I reset when totally full and observe what the fuel guage is telling me all the way down to the last 30 ltrs without any topping up ( shorter trips during that time obviously) I know that when its parked at home it will show 1 or two bars on the guage with 30 ltrs in it. I try and aim to burn down to the last 30 ltrs and fill up on the way, putting the same amount of fuel that the usage reading tells me I used last time. It's very accurate, but I seldom fill her all the way up these days unless I am doing a big offshore trip.
Yep notepad I think. I have mine on total used and try to remember how much I put in if not filling. I usually fill up but my average offshore trip is only about 70-80 litres. Agree it would be handy if you could just put an amount in.
Ok thanks for that. Just seems like it's not possible.
I just thought it would be considering it was on older Yamaha gauges and was so use full.
Yes there is lots of manual ways to do it but would be easier if it just worked. I don't have an average trip distance. Some times it's 20km chasing snapper in closes or 150kms looking for marlin and that's y I don't really need to fill it all the time if just staying in close.
