Gorgeous day on the water off Longy yesterday.
Started with the usual search for some squid and slimeys, then a brief break in the high cloud gave me a glimpse from Dee Why Pt across to Long Reef showing conditions were a tad lumpy, but ok.
Forecast was for 50knot winds and 30ft seas which was brilliant news to keep the crowds down...the surge at Longy ramp was up around the golf course clubhouse but i managed to pop her in without drama and push out to Spot X...as expected it calmed down a lot once away from the cliff backwash.
We managed one half decent kingy and a pinky that must have got caught in the autumn current.
Got a tad breezy and chilly and the missus started whinging as per usual
so headed back in to clean up.
Unbelievable...i took the bloody week off, and all i asked for was a bit of good weather in Syd coz i havent been able to get out for ages.
I give up.
