Short report.

Out at the beacons on Sunday. Had a couple of hookups on slugs. First unstoppable on 5kg line (lost the lure). Second unstoppable on 11kg gear (bent treble). Changed to single hooks but the next few strikes failed to hook up. Trolled some halcos up and down the channel with no luck.

A couple other boats were getting a few schoolies but they were scarce. Plenty of tuna launching out of the water and the occasional mac-tuna surface action.

Highlight of the day was seeing a big shark (at last 8 feet long) launch about 4 feet out of the water, on the end of a nearby boaties line, before coming off. Very impressive!

Even the bait fish seemed thinner than previous trips out to that area. Although the yellow tail were alot bigger.

Fortunately picked up five ~35cm bream from the Pine on Saturday afternoon. But i must say the fish from there don't smell as nice as from the bay.
