Headed out at 4AM through Rabybay on our way to the Catherdrals. Deckies were my mate Dieter and Jeremy. Was a very dark morning on the bay. Just set the autopilot and cruised at a comfy 15knts. Got to the bar around 5AM just as the first light was poking it's way through the clouds.
Crossed a washing machine of a bar and headed out to the Catherdrals. After 30 - 40 mins of searching we finally found some ground holding some nice shows of fish. Concentrated on this patch for an hour or so, but the current was pulling pretty hard, even with the parachute out. Jeremy was the first to land a fish on our first drift. A PB Snapper on a jig for him.
We left the current to head to Boat rock after a quick look at the barron place called the Waverider. At the rock we started to fill the box. Frist drift got us some nice Moses. Then the Snapper slowly started coming on-board, only pan sized though. We did get hooked up to some brutes, but the sharks were fairly thick and we lost a lot of the good fish to them.
After a couple fo hours playing round the rock we headed to Middle Reef. Boated some more nice fish then at 1:40 we steamed home. Was a good day on the water regardless, sure beats looking at the boat sitting in my yard.
