    Hey Dean1,
im co owner of the boat. Yet to see it so I'm hoping it's as nice as photos.
How do you rekon it'd go with a set of yamaha f115's? Bum heavy much?

we'll do floor and tanks shortly and she'll be a ripper.

    Hi Flex,
so did you and Lembo both own the 5.2kc that has been sold?
From what I can see the new F115B Yammy is 171kg. The 100 is 170kg. Go the 115s id say! What a beast with 115s shed be . Only other option is 90 Spooks but the extra bit of hp would be nice. Im jealous to say the least love your work boys 👍

yeah we were co-owners in the 5.2. Was a shame to see it go but simply wasn't fast enough. Other than that it was a perfect boat.

going to stick some 200l tanks in I think and paint the floor.

Was going to put a set of 90 suzukis on. I think they'd be perfect but we're onto a set of f115A at a great price and these just can't be passed up on. 180ish kg from memory. I'm thinking the deck will be a tad wet with a few blokes down the back. Similar to my KC with f60's and 3 fat arses fishing in it. But if we're travelling 140km offshore occasionally I wanna get there quick and the 115's should be hammer.

Re: new boat, sharkcat sportsman. getting bigger tanks, help on how to do new floor.

Mate when cutting up floor i used a diamond grinding wheel and cut all around edge of floor against hull to pull whole floor up. Be careful if you have a fuel leak as i did, there's nails in the floor going down into the crossbeams (i should have been blown and landed on uranus) A certain model had stainless tanks with no baffles inside and were prone to splitting. I turfed the tanks and got 3mm alloy ones with 2 sets of baffles in each tank made up and 2 packed to help with corrosion then put back in on 3mm chocks of fibreglass underneath to keep the bottom of tank up out of any moisture that might happen down the track. I also went overboard with the floor and cut all existing timber out of hull and new crossbeams and uprights and floor was solid glass. I sent my number to flex through pm. There's a bloke on here who is the neighbour of my old cat, i'll see if i can round up some pics of the floor rebuild for you. Podded sharky's have a lot bigger deck space than unpodded one's so i would be inclined to make some big esky/seats up to glass into floor over your tanks when done. Opens up the deck space instead of esky's floating around.
Hope this bit info helps if anything. let me know if you want some pics mate, allways good to get other ideas whist in the fibreglassing mode.

    gday guys
Dean, good to hear from you, farron has spoken a lot about you.(all good things were said). really stoked with the boat, me and flex (my brother) have always wanted a podded sharkie. and this one has to be one of the tidiest going, was sad to see then kc go it was a great boat but just wasn't quick enough. I think the 90 zooks would be the perfect donk for the sharkie for weight/power but we have found an excellent deal on a pair of 115 yammies. hopefully the sharkie still floats. but worse case we can get some 2400kc pods for a very cheap price which might help with floating, even though those shakie pods are stuck on pretty hard. so there are a few changes going on with the old sharkie but its a pretty darn awesome hull.
Feral cat would be great to see a few pics of your floor, our sharkie is pretty tidy underneath for been 25 years old but when the floor comes up we will do a tidy up. there is a bit of a fuel smell coming from one hatch but I guess theres only one way of finding out if the tanks are cracked, and yeah il be carefull if I start grinding.
me and toby (flex) are picking it up Saturday arvo, I think he will wet his pants in excitement when he sees it.

Ye mate youl struggle to find a tidier one I dont know how youd better that! Faz doesn't half do things. I wanted to buy that boat many years before he bought it when I saw it up the coast for sale and went for a run in it but my old man didnt like the motors ( 70 2 stroke yammies). Then I nearly bought feral cats podded 18 but he changed his mind and didnt want to sell it until I bought a welled 18 and then he found a 660 NC and changed his mind 😈
