560 sharkie twin 115s, WOT and cruise speeds ? what do you think they would be ?
Top speed... Faster than you can safely run at sea, cruise...depending on sea conditions, 20-25 knots plus.
friend has an aluminum 560 sharkcat with twin 60, full 4 man team and 250L fuel.. 25knots at 4.2rpm cruising speed... never went beyond 35knots pending on winds and tides going out.. hope that helps abit
I thought max total hp is 140?
Twin 115's will give you 42 knots WOT.
Cruise will be 25 kts in most conditions.
Are we talking about 115 2 strokes or 115 4 strokes?
What difference does it make?
thanks guys
aluminium shark cat? no such thing. looks like a 560 will be my next boat. and im after something quick so 115s or at least 90s on one. waved goodbye to my kevlacat today so now im serious about looking for its replacement.
Borger Cat ... ah the brand shark cat... i just thought it was just type of vessle... to me all multi 2 leg hull are all cats lol
G'day Lembo,
You are on the right track!
The 560 is a great boat, especially the Sportsman which was the last of them to be made.
115's are the best power for them, however 90's will be the go in 4 strokes or E'tecs due to the weight.
C'mon Noel, is that a trick question?

I spent a few years in a 560 with Johnson 115 2 strokes, all 1980 vintage.
Even though fuel was 45c, fuel burn was still an issue. Definitely the right 2 stroke power for the hull though. GM's numbers are spot on.
I recently saw a 560 with new Yamaha 115 four strokes at the ramp, but didn't get a chance to talk the skipper.
