Hi all,
chasing some feedback on older sailfish cat hulls. Mostly pre 2000 models. What are these boats like structurally? Also mostly what's the corrosion like on them? A bit of paint bubble doesnt worry m it's more pin holes in the bottom?
I own a pre 2000 model, no issue with corrosion and the boat has been well used throughout its life. I did have an issue with a crack in the hull but has it repaired at sailfish and no issues since.
The build method has changed over the years, the very early hulls had the lower chines bent and welded. Later models all have extrusions welded in to help deflect spray and it would seem a stonger join.
I looked at a number of hulls before buying mine, most had the odd repair but nothing from corrosion. Hope that helps.
