Hi Moose,
Just wondering if you could comment on the differences between a Garmin 7012 and a 7412. In the application i am thinking it is predominately a plotter (interfaced with radar). Hopefully autopilot to come at some stage too. I have the option to compare between the new unit or getting hold of a used 7012 at the right price.

While not the primary sounder, the 7012 option has a GSD 24 included, which I can interface as a back up FF to an unused in hull transducer already isntalled.

Would the 741 (or 7410) outperform it? Obviously CHIRP is the main difference I assume?
