I have done it in a 7.5m but like any location you need to pick your weather to suit your boat. Your boat will be fine if you do this. If you have time you can Island hop to Rattlesnake, then up through the Palms to Lucinda. If you want to fish the reefs off Ingham (Lucinda) then tow to Lucinda and launch there. Much easier than going by sea from Townsville.

Thanks for the input, I was actually hoping to travel as close to the coast as possible as I want to explore the coastline, and I love crabbing so was looking for the un traveled creek.... I know I will have to watch the tides, But was going to attempt it with the if I run out of water I will just camp - sleep on the boat the boat , I get my new boat this week , its a Landing craft much the same as Munson Boats in America

Neat, carry a 4wd bike and you have the ultimate coastal cruiser.
Especially if its self draining over the stern!

Yes, self draining, and can carry quad or a couple of scooters max payload weight is just under 1tonne , I'm hoping i can travel the coast with it .. as mentioned Townsville to Ingham first. I've been told it will handle like a speed boat unloaded, due to the hull design ?? ( 35 knots and 25 loaded ).
