Garmin Homeport has just confused the crap out of me.

Ok, as it is wet and windy and I can't work on the boat I though it was time to go through some of my last few trips and update waypoints etc, I hadn't used Homeport for a couple of months but when I went to load it, it had an update which had something to do with overlays on tracks, sounded good - however when I used it the first time I could get the graph for Depth on an Active Track with no problems but when I backed out of this and then later tried again the only graphs available to me were "Speed over Ground" and "Course over Ground" which I could overlay but "Depth over Ground" was no longer available. I have rebooted the PC but to no avail, tried to find something on the Garmin site but pretty well bombed out almost as if Homeport was not supported. - forgive me but finally located the site and also posted the question there.

Anyone know how to get my "Depth over Ground" back. I did have a look at the option of restoring a previous version but I think it wipes all my waypoints, routes and tracks in the process.

Seems the Garmin forum is a user to user forum and not necessarily supported by Garmin and not getting any response, has anyone tried the new version of Homeport

    1. double click the track
    2. select graph
    3. top right of the graph box, you will see 2 drop down dialogue boxes..
    4. one says course over ground, the second says none.

Change one or the other to what you want.

Just tested after update, is working.

    Regards
    Honda.

Honda, did that the first time, closed the graph box down as I wanted to select another active track and the Depth option was gone, went back to the first track just in case there was a problem with the second track but to no avail, if I close Homeport down and reboot the pc then it works again but only the once.

Just re-tested, the same as what you did,
    • selected a track,
    • looked at depth,
    • closed graph,

then opened a new graph on another track, depth is still available. I get no issues.

BTW, you should need to restart your pc to get the data to display, just the application.

    Regards
    Honda.

Bought homeport last year and have found it a real pain in the arse to even put in new waypoints, it tries to do some sort of autofill shite when typing in coordinates and sometimes need to be entered 3 or 4 times (go figure) thought it may be some funky software conflict in the computer. if someone has a fix for that I would greatly appreciate it. odieman

    thanks Honda,
suspect my pc doesn't like it, I can only ever get it the once, will resave all my data and revert to a previous version as I don't really need the new overlay. I might then retry the update.
