well garmin has unloaded early (hmmm to weird?) at this years miami boat show. dropping 3 big annoucements before the doors open
the first "and biggest" is the new panoptix sonar system "allVu" they are calling it. with a 3d sonar beneith the vessel, a history and forward scan available in real time. up to 300ft and 80ft forward in either 2d "thingb similar to the navico/simrad forward scan. and in a 3d sweep. "think echopilot 3d" which makes sense after garmins purchase of interphase 2 years ago. around $1500USD is earmarked to be the price tag. but im REALLLLY looking forward to seeing more of this system

also announced ... the new garmin 7416 and 7616 systems in both sonar and gps only fashion. no surprise this was. it was kinda leaked a few weeks ago. but yep. 6k price tag but with built in 2 channel 1kw tru chirp. sidevu, downvu and panoptix its a real box ticker

also announces is the new garmin bluecharts mobile 2.0. with a host of weather, radar sharing real time internet data etc .......all of which isnt available in australiabut its signs of things to come
