As you may have read in a different thread, going to kingfisher bay from river heads. Just inquiring how far it is ....rough idea on time, going in a 5+ m Haines, 4 onboard.
Thanks guys,

Takes 45 minutes in the barge at about 7-8 kts. 20 minutes will kill it most days in that boat.

Takes bugger all time mate. If its flat should only be like 10minutes.
I think the barge takes like half hr.
yeah depends whether that big northerly is blowing swell down against a run out tide. Can get lumpy and an ugly trip but if you go before the wind gets up I agree, it's fifteen to twenty at the most.
Gday Jewienewie, good luck with your trip, you mentioned golf course, not sure if there is one of those over there, just means if the weathers turns to crap you'll just have to drink more! Lol. I am wondering though how mooring your boat on the beach( or just off) would go in a howling northerly? Would be some food for thought for the future! I spent 4 days last year in October travelling the straights with the wife and kids! Great part of the world!
