Effects of cyclonic conditions on beach fishing
Thinking about heading up to Teewah Beach in a few weeks time for a couple of days fishing. Now I read that the remnants of Cyclone Ola will probably bring powerful swells, high tides and strong winds, potentially damaging beaches and causing some erosion.
If this does happen this week, will it have an impact on the fishing in 3-4 weeks time? What are everyone's thoughts/experiences?

No, as long as the weather settles down for a bit. Mother Nature will put the sand back soon enough and the fish and beach will return to normal.

If the seas are big enough absolutely there will be an impact. Depending on the swell strength and direction large cliffs of sand may be left behind as the existing sand is eroded out to sea. Travel along the beach may also no longer be possible. Gutters will reform as long as we get favourable conditions. Don't cancel a trip in a few weeks based on this week's conditions. When getting closer check the beach conditions report and or call the ranger.
