Well done! It pays to persist. Let's hope it continues to play ball.

Did you do the "soft reset" too?

And one more: where did you obtain the V2.2 software? I had done some googling and saw that others had done that, but couldn't get the V2.2 from Lowrance.
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

I didn't do the soft reset.

I stumbled accross 2.20 on another forum.

pm me your email address and I will forward it to you.

and yes it pays to persist.

Good result. Software bugs with this stuff have always given me the sh*ts. None of the manufacturers seem to be able to, or want to, test products properly prior to release. I couldn't nominate one brand that I have sold over the years that hasn't had issues. Some do seem to be worse than others though.

Thanks - will do. I would suggest you go back to them and tell them what the solution was, after, of course, the replacement EP85r turns up! If they ask, tell 'me that's the consulting fee for telling them the solution to their product's fault!!

I remember a couple of years ago, I was having some fuel calibration issues with my Suzuki NMEA2000 network. Was pretty convinced that it wasn't anything to do with my setup. In fact, I was certain, and fet it was likely a software issue with the HDS 5's on my network.

So so rang them and talked to a guy, who seems to be convinced it was a network setup problem. I knew it wasn't.

Anyway he offered to send me a copy of an article that was written about setting up these networks in a well known boating and fishing magazine. So that I could get my network setup sorted!

I I asked him which magazine, he got a bit cagey. They I asked him who the author was. He told me the name.

I said, well, you're talking to that guy, I wrote that article, so I can damn well assure you that it's not a setup issue!

For about the next 2 years, I got many people referred to me by them to help sort out their Suzuki NMEA2000 networks. Should have charged a commission!

Eventually proved it was a HDS software fault and had to embarrass them into doing a fix by posting on their Facebook page. That got their attention!
