Alternate mount for skimmer transducer

Can you mount a skimmer type transducer inside the hull? I've just had the transom replaced and don't want to drill holes in it! There is a wet box for a thru hull transducer but until I upgrade from my lowrance mark 5x I'm stuck with the skimmer. Any ideas

Mount it in the wetbox. It will work provided the wetbox is in a good location and the hull isn't too thick.
