Nope. I have never asked my missus to back the trailer down.
My car, my boat, my backing up.
Absolutely I wouldnt trade her for any of my old fishing companions from over the years and she knows how to set a drag by hand beat that I say ...Matt
A bad days fishing has got to be better than any day at work......
The mooloolaba ramps been getting a work out lately, last Saturday a bloke was taking a perspective buyer for a test run and completely unhooked the boat in the loading bay, only to have the boat roll clean off the trailer half way down the ramp, I Can't find it on the net, there where guys there taking photo's
I watched a boat come in at Cleveland yesterday morning. Had a couple of Ausfish stickers on it. Anyhoo the bloke dropped his mrs off and stood by holding the boat. I thought' this may be interesting". Saw her start her reverse down the ramp and to my surprise did it with the precision of a.............person who could reverse a trailer precisely. Perfect. No over the shoulder looking just glancing at the mirrors till it was down in the water. Hats off to her.
I got a keeper to, missus has no worries in reversing trailer down the ramp. and is even confident enough to hook up trailer, drive to ramp, reverse and launch, take her mates out for a run, retrieve, drive home and flush motor......Now you may think that that is awesome, well it is, until she sends me a photo via text of herself and her sexy friends out on the water while i am at work........! Gunna have to hide the keys if she keeps that up........!

My misses can't reverse the trailer, can't even un hook the winch off the boat, can't get in the boat unless I go to pontoon, doesn't fish but loves to eat them and vomits the whole time we are out but wouldn't trade her for the world. Have two daughters that carry the same genes as her. The son is fine except he has gone to Canada for two years so cut me some slack when you see me at the ramp running around trying to launch and retrieve. Family boat outings are different and always keep me entertained.
Pays to check the clenliness or dryness of the ramp prior to backing down to launch or retrieve . The can get wuite slippery especially at low water...
And quite easy to happen also..Come close a few time but luck hung in ...
It wasn't even a boat trailer!?!?!
Wtf is someone doing reversing a box trailer down a (slippery?) boat ramp for in the first instance?
Clip does give a good reason why you shouldn't use the bull bar as a recovery point too lol...spose it's the least of their worries now tho.
