    Mud guard help

I want to upgrade the mudguards on my Sea-Link trailer. Any suggestions where I could buy the guard and bracket? If I buy a guard then I will have to weld a gal guard to gal frame? Any easy ways of doing this?
    Thanks for any help guys.

Why do you want to put mudguards on? Don't mean to sound like a smart arse - the back story is I recently had to get a pink slip for my trailer and got knocked back because it had no mudguards. I thought it was a ridiculous waste of $20 just to slap a set on them.

I would be more inclined to get an alloy set - no more rust. They should just bolt to your existing frame work once you remove the other. Only drawback may be if there is nothing off the shelf and you have to have custom fabricated - may cost a bit. If you dont use them to step on there is always the fibreglass option as well. Just remember to cold gal the brackets when you cut the existing guard away. Any good marine chandlery should have access to mudguards or contact some one that does trailer repairs.

You could probably get a pair of plastic guards and only have to weld a couple of bits of 75X50 onto the spring hanger angle where the current one is welded on, plastic never rusts......

Have I missed something ...ummmm I think he needs them to stay roadworthy, I have seen plastic ones some where, think it was bcf, in heaps of diff sizes. Would stop the rust issue.

Suspect Mr Happi meant mudflaps. I think the guards have to come down to past the axle or some other measurement to be legal. If they don't come far enough - mudflaps required.

    Where are you?
Active fabrications at Beenleigh have best prices in Brisbane. They have black steel, gal and plastic ones. Have a look at their catalogue on their website.
