2115 models are a long way off at the moment but I'm sure since I recently bought a 70dv they will have a newer faster bigger better model arriving shortly for 2015.

should see new echo models feb.. and then they will sort of stagger them untill may. so dont expect the 76xx for at least a month and a bit.

    yep.
so the 76xx series is more like a cut down 8000 series rather than a beefed up 7xx/8xx10xx series

    so apples to apples
751xs =7" screen, series 1 software, 1 BNC video imput, single CHIRP. 600w down Vu capable.
7607xsv =7" screen. series 2 software, 1 composite video imput, dual chirp 1kw, built in side &down VU. GRID capable. wireless remote capable. faster. smarter better.

    Re: Garmin 2015 models

the 70dv will still be around. and is still a good unit. in a lot of ways its better then the up and coming new echo series . which will be touch button only. as well as 5hrtz antenna only
the 70dv is a good unit by all accounts and is worth considering still.

Hi moose would you recommend the 70dv over the hds7 .

    Re: Garmin 2015 models

hmmmm. maybe. the hds7 is fairly modular and can allow for a few more add ons down the track if thats something you want to keep in mind.otherwise yeah the echomap70dv is a stella unit.

    Re: Garmin 2015 models

Thanks moose i have a hds5 gen 1 already which i want to use for a gps and the new 1 as a sounder so is it better to have a hds7 so they can run together off 1 transducer. Can they be networked together .

    Cheers

    Re: Garmin 2015 models

Hi Chockolatemoose Thanks for the info on the larger models ..do you have any details for the EchoMap 50DV ?? I think I would like the 70 DV but I have a space problem on my panel and I dont think it will fit.
    Best regards

    Re: Garmin 2015 models

    yeah they can bert.
    hi zigzag
the 50dv and 70dv are being made redundant soon "kinda sad because the touch screen 70dv was a great unit and the replacement unit will be button only.. sure it will have side imaging. but will only have a 5htz antenna instead of a 10hrtz and no more touch screen. im going to stock up on the 70dv before they are discontinued"

what details would you like though?

    Re: Garmin 2015 models

Hi Chocolatemoose .. thanks for the info ... I have a navman Trackfish 6507 flush mounted in my dash and it has spat the dummy. I only have 205mm space between my dials so the 50dv sounded like a good replacement.

I could mount the 70 dv on its stand but would then have to find a way to fill in the space left by the Navman. Problems ! Prob.........
    Best regards
