    Sth straddie trip

Went to straddie last week for three nights for a camping/fishing trip. Great weather besides the last two days when the wind was blowing 20+ knots, but thats another story. Managed to get some beach worms and on the falling tide got some whiting, dart and a flathead. Every time I went for a fish I seemed to catch a feed from the surf.

Over in the river equally as good, fished around the pin for good sized whiting and caught about five squire the largest being recorded at 33cm. All fish were caught on yabbies on the in-coming tide. Every trip on the river seemed to produce the goods.

Didn't manage any legal mud crabs but still rewarded with sand crab every time we checked the pots.

Took the kipper over as well, was great to have smoked fresh fish, you just cant beat it!

nice mate, howd those smoked whiting go?
ive just scored a little stainless smoker, now just gotta find a way to get a fish to cook in it.
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.

Those whiting were moist & very soft, even the fillets were the same. The saw dust I used was Apple.
