Hey folks,
Snuck out for a troll on Friday morn with Chris(bayfisher) from tournament tackle australia. Got the spread out in an area that's been producing a few fish of late off the coast. Slow first hour then got belted by a solid billy around 60kg plus, two big jumps towards the boat and he managed get some slack and throw the hooks. Was gutted! Kept on the move and had a bite off from a suspected wahoo and another sharp hit for no hookup. Saw a few other billies hooked. About 10 got a solid hit from a flying dolly, and whilst winding in the spread the bull grabbed one of the skirts. Double hookup to solid dollies, with a spread out, with only two on the boat was a bit of a challenge but prevailed in the end. Didn't get the big billy but not a bad consolation prize. Even some sick new engulf micro jigs instead of fuel money haha! Check out tournament tackle fb page, been posting a bit more regularly there of late
I heard you got a couple, well done. I also heard Alex and your brother got 2 yesterday as well. I missed out recently I had a couple of solid strikes but did not stay connected. I was also trolling a halco trembler on wire trace that was bitten off that I suspect was a wahoo or big spaniard. Good fish that you have got there.

Blair - yea off the goldy mate, head east and youll find the boats. been plenty of fish from 40m and beyond. we been fishing wider but just gotta get in that nice blue water.
