Decided yesterday that today's forecast looked pretty good for a trip offshore. Didn't end up finishing work till 6pm and needed to get food and the boat sorted. Lucky I've been out a bit lately so packing the boat with all the gear is down pat.
Got up this morning to meet my trusty deckie outside my house at 3am. Nearly 2 hours later we had driven to the ramp and pushed our way out to the wave ride buoy. First cast with a soft plastic my mate gets a nice 110cm dolly. After a fair fight we tried a few more drifts with plastics for zip. A few more drifts with different set ups including micro jigs, and different coloured plastics things weren't looking as good as the first cast.
As I don't have a spot to gather livies in that area we were forced to use the mullet we had on board. This proved to do the trick and we started to catch a few more but they were much smaller around the 60cm to 80cm mark.
It was pretty rough out there and I was over feeling a bit crook (unusual) so we headed back in and had a swim at peel for a couple of hours.
It was nice to have a plan come together, and get home relatively early compared to usual.
Does anyone have a common live bait ground between southern amity channel and the wave rider buoy???

Thanks phantom, might spend a bit more time up that way and have a look around. Mostly fished North of the bar previously.
