If you have already done it in ply that ok as it will last a long time. I put in a fuse block from blue sea that uses bladed fuses, not sure if they still do it as it was only 3 years ago. Your attachment doesn't seem to work so not sure about what product you are using, but it sounds like you have already got it sorted. Christmas is about the only time I say off the water as it gets crazy, except for first thing christmas day if the weather is good.

Anyway good luck with the boat.

Yea they still have the blade fuse blocks. Can get one with neg terminal and main connection point on it too, would be good to have it all in the 1 place!

the attachment was just a picture of the dow corning gel I'm using. It's an elec insulation silicon grease. Used to use it on all connections when I was doing marine work, really good stuff!

agree with how busy it is, but it is a nice time if year to be on the water. I'll be down in nthn NSW so it's always much quieter down there than it is in the bay or on the broad water

1 - dow corning elec insulation grease 2 - underside of floor. First ever attempt, bit rough but I got every corner and side covered, and 3 - top side of half the new floor

stage 1 is all complete now! (apart from the last hinge on rear storage) been a pretty crazy time getting there but happy with the final result!
ive replaced the rear deck which was all rot! several layers of 'bondcrete' to seal he new ply, covered with marine carpet stuck down with kwikgrip and the edges stapled!
the cushions were taken out of the front and replaced the old insert to make a flat casting platform.
rear lounge is gone (until i decide to take it out for a recreational cruise with the better half)

stripped back the seating pedestals to bare and applied 2 layers of base coat and 3 coats of satin black paint.. secured to the ally floor through the timber with 12 guage roofing hex heads..

the old quintrex bright colorful stripes are gone, as are the quintrex and millennium hull stickers, replaced with a mackerel decal and a customised vinyl boat name (Buddy 1) and rego stickers to come..

old hull draining scuppers were replaced, as was the draining hose and hose clamps. had the guts of one of these fall out while out fishing and nearly ended up on the bottom of the bay, so went a little overboard with the sika on the new ones

electrically all the tail and side lights were replaced with led models and tinned cable used. new plug also fitted obviously
new vhf radio was flush mounted and a new whip installed also.
new lighting was installed for the interior, managed to find accent lighting the exact same as original quintrex lights, except LED's! was happy they fit straight into existing 45mm cutouts..
new auto bilge pump also installed
all joints were crimped with cabac inline crimps, with insultaing joint compound applied and shrink wrap over top..

middle windscreen section has been removed and is now basically a fulltime walkthrough. 2 screens provide protection to each console and keep alot of the spray out (never got too much water through the middle anyway)

stage 2 will include some fishing luxuries.. new high end sounder/plotter (dragonfly or HDS), downrigger and some new plumbing for the baittank - wont be replacing deckwash hose.

remaining floor sections will be replaced, and planning to build in under the console with lockable hatches so i can keep a bit of gear in there overnight with a bit more security..
will add in some new spotlights and a new stereo system (basic controller and 2 speaker set up)
trailer needs some serious attention too, and this will have to be done before anything else goes in!

been really fun.. Havnt bothered keeping track of price, id rather not know so that way when the gf asked how much ive spent im not lying when i tell her i dont know! haha

bit of a useless post really, has just been fun documenting the work!

if anyone see's me out in the bay or northern NSW come say gday or give me a wave!

    Nick
