Anybody know of an automatic Stern light

Amigos, Does anyone know a brand of led stern light that once turned on at the switch will turn itself on or off depending on light, like a solar light.
When i am anchored on the keppels the boat can sometimes sit there without moving for a week, and this would be real handy.
I often use solar lights because they will do this but there is know gaurantee they would last the night cheers pete
Ps I have tried surfing the web and have called in on a few boating stores but no luck

Yes that is correct, the above option might be the only choice i have, i might have to invent one, thanks for the response

You don't need to invent one. Most decent chandlery/sailing shops will have or can get a light sensitive arw light like this - http://www.davisnet.com/marine/produ...asp?pnum=03300 or http://sailorssolutions.com/index.as...s&Item=LEDPC01 but for the $100 or so that it will probably cost here, if your current lighting system is adequate why not just add a $5 switch?

Yes i have ordered that $5.00 switch an hour ago and have just been working out the wiring setup and the other $95 dollars i will spend on beer and bait

If you have solar, most solar controllers have a function that switches 12v to an external light source, when the incoming solar voltage is below a predetermined voltage. Just a thought
