Little blokes first broad bar mack

Just did a day around MAggie Island with the family and threw a couple of rods in at the last moment. After rounding West Point there was a fair bit of surface action with what looked to be tuna gouging on little glassies.
Knowing that they would probably be fussy and that I had 3 impatient kids on board I thought I would just drag a couple of lures out the back for 10 minutes.
It only took 5minutes and we had a hook up. I passed the rod to my 7yo and he did a great job reeling in a Grey Mack which went about 105cm (measuring sticker only went to 100cm).
He has caught some good fish before, a few spotties up around the 75cm mark, but this may be the one that gets him hooked. We left it at that as I only had a 25l esky on board. Went to the beach, slabbed it up and got some ice from the pub and then had a swim, lunch and few beers. Had plenty of the red stuff in the freezer but I tell you what these things are outstanding on the tooth when cooked up fresh.

Greys are tasty on the tooth but fight like a plastic bag most of the time. Can't wait till my little bloke is old enough to do that.
