For those interested in fuel numbers, I drained my tank today to check, how much fuel I actually used(to check if my fuel flow is calibrated), how big my tank is.- My tank is a 150ltr- I used 190ltrs on the trip for 311kms(yammie 150). This equals to 1.63 kms to the ltr for a really loaded boat.My fuel flow is nearly spot on, it said I had 53ltrs left according to my Raymarine MFD. However the LMF200 said 83ltrs... Weird how they were different, and yes I did update both units when I fueled up at sea.
Sounds like a great trip, and some good fish there too Julian.
You should be able to calibrate your LMF so that it is as close as the MFD.
RE your other post on your fuel tank issues, now that you have emptied your tank, and know what you filled it with the first time, and you now know that at least one of your fuel monitors is accurate - a simple recording of fuel used vs fuel filled, and net balance calc, will tell you what is in your tank - at any time.
It would obviously be good if you could solve/improve your filling issues, however this simple method will take your concerns away re knowing what is in your tank.
Cheers
Brendon
PS. Used this system for years without a problem. I don't have either of my fuel monitors show what is left/remaining in the tank, only fuel used, as 'fuel remaining' relies on a reset, and that your tank is refilled to the same capacity every time.
