There's SERIOUS current wide of Moreton

Worked some of the closer reefs yesterday on the drift (at a million miles an hour. You literally get one shot) and pulled some nice pearls and a few big snapper but F#*k me! The current! We tried anchoring at the Patch at one stage (against my advice) and couldn't even HIT bottom with these five pound leads my mate carries for these occasions. Total waste of time out there. I was going to go for a dive Sunday but that current terrifies me!

I went wide yesterday and yep there was a lot of current. We were drifting at 2.5kn with the chute out and with plenty of lead on and the line was disappearing off the reel. We didn't stay long out there. Current was slower east of hutchies.
