Well Ive had a terrible year so far for fishing opportunities, I could count trips on one hand and i have only managed one trip out to the reef.
With good weather the last 2 sundays i have got out for 2 day trips, last weekend hit the shipping channel for spanish on the jig and just yesterday in close for schoolies and spottie mackeral with some bait to boot.
The trip to the channel started a bit slow but once we found the bait we found the macks and it didnt take long to get more than enough for a feed. Awesome fun catching these things on jigs as well, im addicted!
The trout was a welcome addition to the box also caught on jig.
Home and washed up by about 1pm.
Yesterday me and a mate from work hatched a plan to take his tinny out and try for some mackeral/tuna in close as we had seen them busting there the day before. We were not dissapointed as they didnt stop chewing all day long, it was one of best days fishing ive had with reel screaming fun all day long. I did see one lonely spanish mackeral swim straight past the boat but apart from that there were none.
All fish caught on metal slugs.
The tuna will serve us well when we get back out to the deep reefs, im looking forward to that trip!
Any way a few pics from yesterday, Cheers.
