Setting up the tm 150 transducer , losing signel

Hi I have a simrad evo2 nss12 with structure scan and chirp tm150 transducer for echo sounder . For the luv of money can't seem to get the chirp transducer to read past 8 knots have kept lowering it and tilted it further forward but no cigar???
I have pictures if I can figure out how to post them !
the ss works ok and at least registers a depth while running , but want to read echo while traveling !
the hull is a carribean reef runner older model pre 1990!
als there's a strake that stops some ' one metre towards the bow and 50 mm to the starbed of the transducerimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgThe 2nd last pick may be an alternate position??? Any help be appreciated
    cheers pat

I want to be able to read the bottom at 25 knots even if it means putting another transducer in the boat , but like to try this one first!!!
