Airlie Beach to Cairns dream trip.

To celebrate my 40 th this year, I booked a 7 day trip with Seafever Sportfishing Whitsundays. The boat goes north each year to tackle the Black Marlin off Cairns, and our trip was to be the run north.
We had a mix of crap and great weather, but our skipper was always able to find a honey hole somewhere. We were targeting a wide range of Sportfish, and racked up some great captures.
I've been very fortunate to do some cool trips over the last few years, but this was easily the best. Once again, Ash Matthews (owner skipper) proved his fish finding skills are unequaled. His new boat (an Obrein 40, just Repowered) is the bes rig of this size I've fished on. It was very comfortable on our extended trip. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

If the pics are any indication it looks like a cracking trip!

May I ask what area you found the doggies?

I often do the run up and back with a few mates and have spent a bit of time trying but yet to find them!

    Cheers

Mate, I don't want to give too much away out of respect to our skipper, but we got them on the very outer edge of the GBR roughly in line with Townsville.

Btw, using the IGFA length and girth formula, the doggie was 125 lb.

Some nice fish there, well done mate
    Cheers, Doug.
Love to use Preditek or Kingfisher lures or Viva Lures when I am out fishing.
