    Running in after rebuild

    Hey,
    I am in the process of rebuilding a 99 model Yamaha GP1200 (3 Cylinder 2 stroke, 135hp).
It should be completed within the next few weeks (depending on work), just wondering if anyone could suggest a run-in procedure for the engine once it is back on the water?
I tried looking online but haven't found anything....
I know there might not be any specific model advice from here, but maybe some generic thoughts so I can run it in and not waste all my hard work.....

    Cheers

    Glen

    Re: Running in after rebuild

Hi Glen Yamaha outboards rebuild process is such , don't go over 4000 rpm in the first 10 hrs. add extra 1 % oil to your fuel and do not use synthetic oil during run in . very the rpm for the first 10 hrs. You will know after the first 1 hr of running if it will last or not
